College & Young Adult Ministries

Welcome to W.E.L.D, the gathering of Young Adults (including College) at Hessel Church in Sebastopol, CA! In pursuit of genuinely knowing and following Christ we find that there are four verbs that are imperative to the Christian life and the Christian community:

Worship. True worship happens when God's people praise Him from the heart and submit their wills to him. Praise without submission is lip-service. Submission without praise is legalism.

Engage. Jesus didn't call people to make a decision about Him, He called people to become His followers. At Hessel we want to see people truly engage in the life of faith.

Love. God has formed a new people, a new nation, a new family. God's people love each other and we want to tangibly show God's love to another.

Declare. God is writing His story in human, world, and universe history. We are telling that story and helping others around the world do the same with the hope that many others will join us in following our amazing God.

Join us the first Sunday of each month for W.E.L.D. a progressive worship service open to all ages and life-stages where we encounter God as one through preparation, revelation, and response. C&YA Ministries shares the name W.E.L.D. with this service because we consider it so integral.

College & Career

The first few years of adulthood are a dynamic and pivotal time in life. We believe that little is as important as joining a Christian community that loves and accepts people just as God does and spurs us on to mature faith and adulthood. Join us as we live the life of faith together:

Sunday Mornings: Join us as we study the life of Christ in the Gospel of Mark. Find us in the College room (French Hall) @ 9:45 am.

Sunday Evenings: W.E.L.D::College The First Sunday of each month is devoted to W.E.L.D. while all other Sunday nights we gather for a different expression of worship be that a Partnership meal (with communion), Song and Scripture, Missions-Focus nights, or star-gazing to the tune of creation hymns. Join our Facebook group

Small Groups: We have a number of guys groups and ladies group that meet all over greater Santa Rosa. Email Pastor Bern for information on when and where they meet.

Young Adults

All young adults (single, married, whatever) are invited to join us as we pursue the life of faith together:

Sunday Mornings: This summer we are joining the church for Financial Peace University at 9:50 in the Worship Center.

Intentional Small Groups: Small groups where deep relationships are being intentionally formed are meeting in Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, and Petaluma. Email Pastor Bern for information on when and where they meet.

As adults, our young adults are encouraged to participate in normal body life for weekly activities such as W.E.L.D, Sisters in Scripture and Men’s Fraternity.
