Ken Little, Chidren's Ministry Pastor

Ken is the pastor of children’s ministries at Hessel Church. Ken was born in Fort Bragg & spent most of his childhood in Ukiah and Potter Valley. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Simpson University in Biblical Studies in 2000 and graduated from Master’s Seminary with his Masters of Divinity in 2005. He met his wife Michelle while serving at Placerita Baptist Church in Santa Clarita. Michelle, a graduate of Westmont, was teaching 1st grade at the time while Ken was attending Seminary. Ken offered to drive Michelle to their Bible study and watch her cat (which he lost J….but later found) whenever she went away. Things progressed and on July 26, 2003 they were married. They had their first child, David on Thanksgiving Day in 2005. Ken enjoys spending time with his family, being outside, hanging out with friends, and spending time in the Word.

Ken spent much of his childhood and early adulthood going from one religion to another, until finally giving up on religion in his late teens. However, through some amazing circumstances God got a hold of his life right before his 21st birthday. He switched his college and major (going from Chico State to study history to Simpson to pursue Biblical Studies) because he felt the Lord was calling him into ministry. Because of life experiences (coming to the Lord later in life) and the strong desire the Lord placed upon his heart to see children walking with the Lord, Ken has been involved with children’s ministries since 2003.

Ken thoroughly enjoys the many facets of children’s ministries from administration to working with fellow children’s ministry workers to spending time with the kids. He feels it is the best job in the world to have because while adults are just sitting in their Sunday School class Ken gets to talk to a child about God while building Legos or playing games. He also loves being able to do ministry with his lovely wife Michelle, who helps out in AWANA and Sunday School. Her teaching background and experience working with children has helped him out immensely.

Ken’s vision for children’s ministry is that each child would discover and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ their Savior, and be enabled to face the future confidently living lives to serve Him.
