Tom and Mary Cooney are reaching out to one of California’s biggest mission fields. Tom travels around the West Coast as regional director for CAM International - mission to spanish speakers. He meets with the other Hispanic pastors in Santa Rosa, and participates in combined outreach efforts. The Cooneys lead evangelistic bible studies and Sunday School. Mary leads and prepares bible studies, mentors women and teaches Spanish in a non-christian setting.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, [saved us]...in order that... He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:4,7
That's the verse I chose to express how Tom and I feel about the opportunity to go to Uganda for two weeks! It occurred to me as I was reveling in God's grace and kindness, that I ought to update those of you who so faithfully pray for us- and support our ministry to Spanish speakers here in Sonoma County.
How does going to Uganda relate to Hispanic Ministry? Well, let me tell you! Last Sunday Tom shared at a gathering of three Spanish speaking congregations. They gave us a great send-off in prayer, as well as a very nice offering! It is so cool to see their heart for missions, and all the time and effort that went into their gift. God is working in so many ways, what a privilege to be a part of that!
Tom continues to work with several congregations, as well as different pastors in the bay area. We were involved in the Rescue Mission outreach during Christmas, and Tom went to Mexico with the college/career group between Christmas and new years, and is already working on the trip in the spring.
