Serving at Mt. Gilead

Norm and Kitty’s official title at Mt. Gilead Bible Camp is “Public Relations and Marketing”. They seek to be faithful dispensers of God’s grace as they encourage churches and individuals to come to camp at Mt. Gilead, building relationships between people and Mt. Gilead and strengthening their walk with God. They offer monthly Kaleb’s Kids programs at the camp which include hymns, prayer, a program and lunch as well as visits to folks in their homes.

As Christmas ’07 nears we think about our blessings. Foremost: the gift of life in Christ Jesus & the assurance of eternity in His presence! and people… we are deeply grateful to God for those He has placed in our lives for mutual enjoyment, support and encouragement,. We hope your Holiday Season is a blessed one.

Summer brought Darrin, Julie, Sawyer (12) & Mckenna (10) from France. Family times were heartily enjoyed! Darrin’s family is into their 5th year as missionaries pastoring a church in Aix en Provence, France. They love it. Wendy & Brent (Gorris) continue to live 20 min. away in Sebastopol where Brent teaches Middle School and Wendy is a Property Mgr. Neal (10) & Tanner (8) keep us entertained with overnight visits, soccer & table games. Rikki & Ron (Battersby), along with Jessica (16) are redefining military family life in Belgium with Madison (18) attending college in the U.S. at Capital U. in Columbus, OH. She came here for Thanksgiving! Our son Joe resides in San Diego. We keep trusting God to develop him into His man. Norm’s dad Merle is well-cared-for in a home in Meridian, ID where Norm visits him often.

The two of us continue full-time in the Mt. Gilead ministry, in “People Relations” & Marketing. We love to see God use camping events to draw people to Himself! We try to be faithful at the gym where Norm enjoys iPod music & Kitty listens to podcasts from Darrin & John Piper. J Oh yeah, we are “techies”. We have Skype, a webcam, a Facebook page and PDAs. We refuse to let technology pass us by!!

Norm’s been especially enjoying some good books lately. Primary recommendation: Stewards in the Kingdom by R. Scott Rodin, about appropriate care of the many aspects of our lives. Traveling to Southern California & Arizona will find us reading aloud Marvin Olasky’s Scimitar’s Edge & My Grandfather’s Son by Clarence Thomas.

Kitty has the exciting challenge of developing & launching a Mentoring Ministry at our church this coming Spring, providing guidance & encouragement to Mentors & pairing them with those younger in the Lord, to encourage their growth as Christian women.
