Women’s Ministries

SIS Ministries

SIS is our ministry for women of all ages who are Sisters in Christ and fellowship at Hessel Church In Sebastopol.  This ministry reflects our relational focuses: to Christ as we study His Scripture together, to each other in Friendship, and to others in Fellowship & Outreach. 

Sisters in Scripture

Sisters in Scripture is our Bible study program, held weekly to encourage our growth together in Christ through a variety of Bible studies on Thursday mornings & evenings.  Our prayer-based ministry is focused on Ephesians 6:17-18.

Sister 2 Sister

Sister 2 Sister is our friendship mentoring program where “one seeks to encourage the response of another to God and His Word”. A variety of thematic choices of a woman desiring to be mentored could include: organizational and homemaking skills, maintaining priorities and spiritual encouragement. This vital program of older women coming alongside younger ones is prayerfully based on Titus 2:4-5.
What is a Mentor for Women? She is someone who has been trained to offer appropriate support to one who is ready to receive it. She will meet with you every other week for at least 3 months to listen, pray, love and encourage you in becoming the woman God designed you to be. Building this confidential relationship with a mentor could help you address specific issues affecting your life. A mentor will cheer you on as you grow in Christ, providing a listening ear, insights and practical help to promote your growth. SIS Events

SIS Events include a variety of opportunities throughout the year which encourage fellowship and outreach to the women in our community: Women’s Spring Retreat at Mt. Gilead, Mother’s Day Dessert Tea, Summer Connections, Women of Faith in the Fall, and the Discovery Event.  Our prayer-based gatherings are centered on Isaiah 55:12.

P.T.L. Night Scrappers ("Picture This, Ladies")

P.T.L. Night Scrappers meet together and have a great time scrapbooking! Many come and make cards, too.  Meetings are usually the second Friday of every month from 6:00pm – midnight in Upper CE Room 555.  Call Pam Danelz at the church office or click here if you need further information.
