Children

Birth - 5th Grade

Welcome to Children's Ministry

At Hessel Church, we believe the Bible should never be boring, we serve an amazing God, and that He loves kids just as much as grownups. We want kids to see how God's Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, to live for Him, and to build friendships that will last forever.

We hope your kids will join us for age-appropriate classes in which the Bible is communicated in fun, creative, and relevant ways!

Drop Off & Check-in
Drop Off & Check-in

For your child’s safety, all children must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian. Check-in starts at 8:45 a.m. in the lower level of the Children’s Ministry Building for 2-year-olds through 5th grade. Babies from birth to 23 months can check in at the nursery, which is located in the lobby of the main sanctuary.

Safety
Safety

Your child’s safety is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to creating a safe environment through our safety team, trained volunteers (all have been background checked), check-in and out process, and video surveillance.

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers for our Sunday morning children's classes. Is God calling you to be a part of what He is doing with our next generation? You could be the one that God uses to help make an eternal impact in a child's life!

Adventure Camp Volunteer

We are looking forward to our FREE summer Adventure Camp for kids five years old through 6th grade from July 15th to 19th! We need lots of volunteers to make this happen; for every Crew Leader who commits to all five days of camp, we can invite five more kids to attend! We want to encourage you to see how God will use you this year to make an eternal impact in the lives of children and families at Adventure Camp!

AWANA

AWANA is our discipleship club where children ages three years-5th grade can memorize verses, study, and learn life lessons from the Bible. It is so important that we train up our children to follow Jesus and learn to hide His Word in their hearts. AWANA helps kids to build their lives on the solid, sure foundation of God’s Word.

Our AWANA leaders guide children through their handbooks and teach them how to understand and apply the Bible to their lives. They also participate in fun theme nights and contests and make new friends while playing exciting games!

AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, which says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is a public commitment parents make before God, their family, and the church to raise their child in a God-honoring way. It provides the parents with an opportunity to express their desire to lead and spiritually nurture their child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit so their child will develop a desire to love God and love others.

If you have a young child and would like to participate in the dedication service, please fill out the form. We will then let you know when the next Child Dedication service will take place.

Permission/ Medical Forms

Does your child need a Permission and Medical Release form filled out for an upcoming event?
