Daily Word of Encouragement 11.14.25 - Ben Merilatt

Bible Prophecy -Matthew 24:29-35 - November 14, 2025

Dear LORD, grant us the wisdom, faith, and wonder to receive wisdom and grace from your word today.

 Jesus is coming back, "Immediately" after the tribulation of mass death, persecution, Plagues, and abominations. Just as the world and creation are exhausted and certain all hope of heaven is lost, the lights dim and the stage is set. The sign of the Son of Man shines bright for all the Earth to see at once. Then all the tribes mourn, joining the saints of all history in mourning the state of the world in all its confusion and lack of preparation for their bridegroom.

 Saints are understandably grieved by the state of the world now, and those who come to faith in the tribulation will have even more cause for mourning. How does the state of those without hope in Christ weigh on you? Do you invest in connecting with others in their hurt and loss as Jesus calls us to? I am excited to see the "Great Glory" described in Christ's return. Here is another invitation to marvel at God's sovereign control over all creation, as angels, with mastery over the winds of Earth and the Heavenly bodies, secure those remaining of His people. The primal chaos present at creation, from which God brings order, is composed of more recognizable bits. God again brings good and beautiful order instead. Oh, the relief and Joy of all saints at the grand rescue. All doubt will be quelled with the trumpet and gathering of all His people from all heaven and Earth.

 I forgot this section of scripture before preparing this devotion. Fig trees predict the summer season. This is a new perspective on the passage, Matthew 21:19-22, where Jesus withered a Fig tree with a curse for being fruitless. Seems harsh, but He knew the purpose of the tree was not being met, and a greater lesson was had in cursing it. Faith in God's word and purposes is the most important motivation and guide in all creation. 

 For secure faith in God and a deep relationship with Him, we have the power to correct and change even the location of mountains to display His glory and purpose. What mountains or lack is in your life or a loved one's life you have yet to minister from a heart full of faith and trust in God's word in the face of? Will you act before Christ returns, and you have a reason to wonder if you could have had God's glory instead of another reason for mourning?

 Thank you, Jesus, for guiding us in a healthy response to the signs that your return is imminent. We can recognize signs as we lean into the word of God, which speaks reassurance over us. He will wipe every tear, and the reward will far outstrip the losses we experience for the sake of the Gospel and love for God's people. Heaven is promised to be more wonderful and fitting for us than we can ever imagine. We have the assurance that the pain will pale in the face of the coming kingdom. I can imagine that and find solace in it. What chokes me up and brings a giggle is that that is just a taste of the wonder to come. Eternity is fuller than we can imagine. All joy, all peace, all belonging, all hope, all power, all wisdom, are just the beginning.

 Please, LORD Jesus, show me who needs this encouragement today, and grant me the words to share it with them, Amen.

 Querido Señor, concédenos la sabiduría, la fe y el asombro para recibir la sabiduría y la gracia de tu palabra hoy.

 Jesús regresará «inmediatamente» después de la tribulación de muertes masivas, persecuciones, plagas y abominaciones. Justo cuando el mundo y la creación están agotados y se ha perdido toda esperanza del cielo, las luces se atenúan y el escenario está listo. La señal del Hijo del Hombre brilla intensamente para que toda la Tierra la vea a la vez. Entonces todas las tribus lloran, uniéndose a los santos de toda la historia en el duelo por el estado del mundo, con toda su confusión y falta de preparación para su novio.

 Es comprensible que los santos estén afligidos por el estado actual del mundo, y aquellos que llegan a la fe en la tribulación tendrán aún más motivos para llorar. ¿Cómo te afecta el estado de aquellos que no tienen esperanza en Cristo? ¿Te esfuerzas por conectar con otros en su dolor y pérdida, tal y como Jesús nos llama a hacer? Estoy emocionado por ver la «gran gloria» descrita en el regreso de Cristo. Aquí hay otra invitación a maravillarse del control soberano de Dios sobre toda la creación, mientras los ángeles, con dominio sobre los vientos de la Tierra y los cuerpos celestes, protegen a los que quedan de su pueblo. El caos primigenio presente en la creación, del que Dios saca orden, se compone de fragmentos más reconocibles. Dios vuelve a traer un orden bueno y hermoso. Oh, el alivio y la alegría de todos los santos ante el gran rescate. Todas las dudas se disiparán con la trompeta y la reunión de todo su pueblo de todos los cielos y la Tierra.

 Olvidé esta sección de las Escrituras antes de preparar esta devoción. Las higueras predicen la temporada de verano. Esta es una nueva perspectiva del pasaje, Mateo 21:19-22, donde Jesús marchitó una higuera con una maldición por no dar fruto. Parece duro, pero Él sabía que el propósito del árbol no se estaba cumpliendo, y que había una lección más importante en maldecirlo. La fe en la palabra y los propósitos de Dios es la motivación y la guía más importante en toda la creación. 

 Para tener una fe segura en Dios y una relación profunda con Él, tenemos el poder de corregir y cambiar incluso la ubicación de las montañas para mostrar Su gloria y Su propósito. ¿Qué montañas o carencias hay en tu vida o en la vida de un ser querido a las que aún no has enfrentado con un corazón lleno de fe y confianza en la palabra de Dios? ¿Actuarás antes de que Cristo regrese y tengas una razón para preguntarte si podrías haber tenido la gloria de Dios en lugar de otra razón para llorar?

 Gracias, Jesús, por guiarnos en una respuesta saludable a las señales de que tu regreso es inminente. Podemos reconocer las señales cuando nos apoyamos en la palabra de Dios, que nos da tranquilidad. Él enjugará todas las lágrimas, y la recompensa superará con creces las pérdidas que experimentamos por el evangelio y el amor al pueblo de Dios. Se nos promete que el cielo será más maravilloso y adecuado para nosotros de lo que jamás podamos imaginar. Tenemos la seguridad de que el dolor palidecerá ante el reino venidero. Puedo imaginarlo y encontrar consuelo en ello. Lo que me emociona y me hace sonreír es que eso es solo una muestra de la maravilla que está por venir. La eternidad es más plena de lo que podemos imaginar. Toda alegría, toda paz, todo sentido de pertenencia, toda esperanza, todo poder, toda sabiduría, son solo el comienzo.

 Por favor, Señor Jesús, muéstrame quién necesita este aliento hoy y concédeme las palabras para compartirlo con ellos. Amén.
