Holy Week Prayer - The Day of Decision. Today, hearts encountered the Gospel. Let’s continue praying that decisions made today lead to lasting commitments and changed lives. Pray: "Father, continue Your work in hearts today, prompting decisions of faith and recommitments, anchoring lives firmly in Your grace as people pursue your love and calling on their lives." "Indeed, the 'right time' is now. Today is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT) 

Commands to Serve - Hebrews 6:10 - April 20, 2025 

The Book of Hebrews was written for a population of Messianic Jews still remaining in Jerusalem during the early years of persecution by the Roman Empire. At this time, many Messianic Jews were reconsidering their faith and debated a return to the traditional rabbinic law and abandoning their Christian faith.  

The author of Hebrews tries to instill confidence in this people group, by further encouraging the Jews to remain faithful, despite their doubts. The author reminds them of how far they’ve come and what they’ve accomplished. 

The author reminds them of the salvation that is at hand, of what is promised to them after this life, and of the selfless service they have done for one another. In verse 10, the author points out that God is entirely faithful and does not overlook or abandon what great things they have done for His sake. Specifically, as the author says, it is “in serving the saints.” 

The people spoken of in this book were at risk of apostasy. Their families and homes were destroyed by those who feared the influence of the coming Kingdom. Imagine the hardships endured as people were hunted down in the very same land that had been promised to them centuries before.  

The author encouraged these people and encourages us today. The same message transcends millennia. Serve your fellow Christian, and serve your fellow man. This is one of the most essential tenets prescribed by Jesus.  

Jesus told us that He came to serve and not to be served. He gave us the principles of the importance of serving our brethren. In Matthew 25:40 - “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” 

Our encouragement to one another is this:  

Take any opportunity to serve your fellow man. It is an opportunity from God to put into practice your humility and appreciation for what Jesus bestowed on us. We all desire to hear the same words emanating from the throne on the day we are called home, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master.” 

Palabra diaria de aliento basada en la lectura de hoy     

Oración de la Semana Santa: El día de la decisión. Hoy, los corazones se han encontrado con el Evangelio. Sigamos orando para que las decisiones tomadas hoy conduzcan a compromisos duraderos y a vidas transformadas. Oremos: «Padre, continúa hoy tu obra en los corazones, impulsando decisiones de fe y renovados compromisos, anclando firmemente las vidas en tu gracia mientras las personas buscan tu amor y tu llamado en sus vidas». «Ciertamente, ahora es el momento oportuno. Hoy es el día de la salvación». (2 Corintios 6:2 NLT) 

Mandamientos para servir - Hebreos 6:10 - 20 de abril de 2025 

El libro de Hebreos fue escrito para una población de judíos mesiánicos que aún permanecían en Jerusalén durante los primeros años de la persecución por parte del Imperio Romano. En ese momento, muchos judíos mesiánicos estaban reconsiderando su fe y debatían si volver a la ley rabínica tradicional y abandonar su fe cristiana. 

El autor de Hebreos intenta infundir confianza en este grupo de personas, animándoles a permanecer fieles a pesar de sus dudas. El autor les recuerda lo lejos que han llegado y lo que han logrado. 

El autor les recuerda la salvación que está al alcance de la mano, lo que se les ha prometido después de esta vida y el servicio desinteresado que han prestado unos a otros. En el versículo 10, el autor señala que Dios es totalmente fiel y no pasa por alto ni abandona las grandes cosas que han hecho por Él. Concretamente, como dice el autor, «en el servicio a los santos». 

Las personas de las que se habla en este libro corrían el riesgo de apostatar. Sus familias y sus hogares fueron destruidos por aquellos que temían la influencia del Reino venidero. Imaginemos las penurias que soportaron al ser perseguidos en la misma tierra que les había sido prometida siglos atrás. 

El autor animó a estas personas y nos anima a nosotros hoy. El mismo mensaje trasciende milenios. Sirve a tus hermanos cristianos y sirve a tus semejantes. Este es uno de los principios más esenciales prescritos por Jesús. 

Jesús nos dijo que vino a servir y no a ser servido. Nos dio los principios de la importancia de servir a nuestros hermanos. En Mateo 25:40: «En verdad os digo que cuanto hicisteis a uno de estos hermanos míos más pequeños, a mí me lo hicisteis». 

Nuestro aliento mutuo es este: 

Aprovecha cualquier oportunidad para servir a tus semejantes. Es una oportunidad que Dios te da para poner en práctica tu humildad y tu agradecimiento por lo que Jesús nos ha concedido. Todos deseamos escuchar las mismas palabras que emanarán del trono el día en que seamos llamados a casa: «Bien hecho, siervo bueno y fiel. Entra en el gozo de tu Señor».
