Jesus’ Final Week - Matthew 28:1-10 - April 28, 2026

"He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay." (Matthew 28:6-7)

Have you ever wanted to share some good news with someone? Maybe you found out you're going to Disneyland and want to tell your friends, or maybe you want to tell your friend that you finally got that one present you've been wanting for Christmas. In this passage, Mary and Mary Magenadene experience this kind of joy at learning some good news, but at a far greater level. They went to see where Jesus was buried and met an angel who rolled the stone away and told them that their Savior, Jesus Christ, had risen from the grave. They are so happy with this news that they rush to tell the disciples this wonderful good news.

This truly is the best good news someone can hear and share with others. But why is it good? It is good because Jesus Christ took on the punishment for our sins on the cross and rose from the grave three days later. This means that we can be saved from all our sins by putting our trust in our Savior, Jesus Christ, who took them on for us.

We can be encouraged that our Savior Jesus Christ has conquered death once and for all! There is no fear in death for those who are in Christ. Jesus proved that he is both fully God and fully man by his resurrection. I encourage you today: if you have not been saved, put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, who died for your sins and for mine.

For those who are in Christ, I encourage you to share this good news with others. Jesus tells us in Matthew to share this good news. He says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Let us praise God for sending his Son to die for us so that by believing in him we could be saved. Let us also pray for boldness and courage to share the good news in a dark world that needs light.

Dear Heavenly Holy Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to die in our place. Thank you, Jesus, that you didn't stay dead but rose from the grave and conquered death once and for all. I pray that those who don't know you as their Savior will hear the gospel and be saved. I pray for myself and those who are saved that you would give us opportunities and boldness to share the good news. I pray all these things in your Son's name, Amen.

La última semana de Jesús - Mateo 28:1-10 - 28 de abril de 2026

«No está aquí, pues ha resucitado, tal como dijo. Venid a ver el lugar donde yacía». (Mateo 28:6-7)

¿Alguna vez has querido compartir una buena noticia con alguien? Quizás te has enterado de que vas a ir a Disneylandia y quieres contárselo a tus amigos, o quizás quieres decirle a tu amigo que por fin has recibido ese regalo que tanto deseabas para Navidad. En este pasaje, María y María Magdalena experimentan este tipo de alegría al recibir buenas noticias, pero a un nivel mucho mayor. Fueron a ver dónde había sido sepultado Jesús y se encontraron con un ángel que apartó la piedra y les dijo que su Salvador, Jesucristo, había resucitado de entre los muertos. Están tan felices con esta noticia que se apresuran a contarles a los discípulos estas maravillosas buenas noticias.

Esta es verdaderamente la mejor noticia que alguien puede escuchar y compartir con los demás. Pero, ¿por qué es buena? Es buena porque Jesucristo asumió el castigo por nuestros pecados en la cruz y resucitó de entre los muertos tres días después. Esto significa que podemos ser salvos de todos nuestros pecados al poner nuestra confianza en nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo, quien los asumió por nosotros.

¡Podemos sentirnos animados porque nuestro Salvador Jesucristo ha vencido a la muerte de una vez por todas! No hay temor a la muerte para quienes están en Cristo. Jesús demostró que es plenamente Dios y plenamente hombre mediante su resurrección. Hoy te animo: si aún no has sido salvado, pon tu fe y tu confianza en Jesucristo, quien murió por tus pecados y por los míos.

A quienes están en Cristo, les animo a compartir esta buena noticia con los demás. Jesús nos dice en Mateo que compartamos esta buena noticia. Él dice: «Por tanto, id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que os he mandado. Y he aquí que yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo». Alabemos a Dios por enviar a su Hijo a morir por nosotros, para que al creer en él pudiéramos ser salvos. Oremos también por la audacia y el valor para compartir las buenas nuevas en un mundo oscuro que necesita luz.

Querido Padre Celestial y Santo, gracias por enviar a tu Hijo, Jesús, a morir en nuestro lugar. Gracias, Jesús, porque no permaneciste muerto, sino que resucitaste de entre los muertos y venciste a la muerte de una vez por todas. Oro para que aquellos que no te conocen como su Salvador escuchen el evangelio y sean salvos. Oro por mí mismo y por los que son salvos, para que nos des oportunidades y valentía para compartir la buena nueva. Oro por todas estas cosas en el nombre de tu Hijo. Amén.
