Sermon Study Questions 10.26.25
Icebreaker Questions
1. Have you ever had a plan or trip completely fall apart — something you worked hard for, but it didn’t go the way you expected? Looking back, how did that “detour” end up shaping you?
2. Think of a time when you were praying for God to do one thing, but He clearly did something else. How did your perspective shift by the end of it?
Diving Deeper
1. Read Romans 15:22-27. How were Paul's plans changed over time? Why do you think God interrupts our plans and redirects us? What difference does it make when we view interruptions as divine direction?
2. Read Romans 15:30-32. Paul asks the church to “strive together” with him in prayer. What does that reveal about Paul’s understanding of dependence and community? Why is prayer often the most underused tool in seasons of uncertainty?
3. Read Romans 15:33. Why do you think Paul finishes this section with praying for peace?
Life Application Questions
1. Where do you sense God might be saying “Not yet” or “Not this way” in your life right now? How can you learn to see that delay as divine maintenance, not divine neglect?
2. Paul’s detour to prison became a platform for the gospel. What situation in your life could God be using right now to display His strength and reach others?
