Icebreaker Questions

1. When have you walked into a new place—school, church, job—and weren’t sure where you belonged? What made the biggest difference in helping you feel included?

2. If you had to describe Hessel Church as a “family,” what kind of family would it be? What would make that family even stronger?

Diving Deeper

1. Read Romans 15:7.  Describe how Christ has welcomed you.  What aspects of that welcome are applicable for your conduct towards others?

2. Read Romans 15:10-12.  Who are the Gentiles and what is the significance of their inclusion in the family of God?  What does this mean for us?

3. Read Romans 15:13.  How is God described here and what does that lead to for the Christian?  What role does faith play in this whole process?

Life Application

1. Think about your “table”—your home, your friend circle, your church involvement. Who doesn’t currently have a seat at that table that God might be prompting you to invite in?

2. What situation, circumstance, relationship, etc. is God asking you to hope in Him in right now?  How does knowing Christ impact your practical walk during hard times?
