Sermon Study Questions 11.23.25
Icebreaker Questions
1. What’s something that constantly distracts you—whether it’s your phone, a hobby, or a person’s opinions?
2. Who in your life models spiritual steadiness—someone who doesn’t waver easily when life gets hard? How can you learn from that example?
Diving Deeper
1. Read Romans 16:17. Who do you think Paul is referring to when he references those who cause divisions and create obstacles? What divisions and obstacles are we facing as a Church today?
2. Read Romans 16:18. It mentions that false teachers “serve their own appetites.” What does it mean to “feed” something spiritually? What are some appetites in our culture that can quietly compete for your attention?
3. Read Romans 16:19-20. What promise does Paul conclude his letter with? How does this reality help us to stand firm in our faith?
Life Application Questions
1. What specific “voices” or influences most often pull your focus from Jesus? What might it look like to “watch out and avoid” them this week?
2. Feed What’s Right: What’s one spiritual habit you can “feed” this week (Scripture, prayer, worship, community)? How can your group encourage you in it?
Starve What’s Wrong: What’s one unhealthy appetite you need to starve—something you’ve been feeding with time, attention, or emotion?
