1. What’s something in life you’ve learned the hard way that you can’t do by sheer effort alone? (Health, relationships, work, parenting, habits, etc.)

1. Read John 14:16-17.  What do these verses teach us about the Holy Spirit?  What does Jesus promise to the disciples is yet to come?

2. Read Galatians 5:16-25.  How does Paul compare the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit?  How does this concept of the Holy Spirit producing fruit coexist with our human responsibility to obey God actively?

3. Read Psalm 51:10-12.  How does the work of the Holy Spirit relate to a life of repentance?
