Icebreaker Questions
1. If someone were to come up and ask you, "Who are you?" how would you respond? What sorts of things most readily come to mind as the most important things about yourself?
2. We live in a time where many people are having "identity crises." What do you think are the most important cultural, psychological etc. factors leading to these crises?
Diving Deeper
1. Read Genesis 1:26-27. What does our creation teach us about ourselves? What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
2. Read Psalm 51:5. What does it mean that we have a "sinful nature?" Given this reality, how can we be saved?
3. Read Colossians 1:13-14. What has Jesus done to transform our identity? How does this change the way that we live?
Life Application Questions
1. How does understanding that you were intentionally created change the way you see yourself? Is there a sin struggle where you need to run to God rather than try to fix it yourself? How does knowing you are redeemed give you hope for the future?
2. What is one lie about identity that Christians must actively resist today? What habits help remind you of who you are in Christ?
