Icebreaker Questions

1. What’s a small thing people do that irrationally annoys you? (Loud chewing, slow texting, “reply all,” etc.)  How can you turn from criticism to love when you're feeling annoyed?

2. Why is loving people in theory so much easier than loving people in real life?

Diving Deeper

1. Read John 13:34.  What does Jesus command His followers to do?  Describe the kind of love that He's referring to with as many adjectives as you can.

2. Read Philippians 1:7.  How is Paul's love based on truth and not feelings?  What does it mean to be "partakers of grace" together?

3. Read Philippians 1:8.  What does Paul mean when uses the phrase "affection of Christ Jesus?"  How should the way Paul approached others shape the way we do?

Life Application Questions

1. Deep friendships require: (1) Shared Faith, (2) Honest Conversations, (3) Mutual Accountability, and (4) Spiritual Encouragement.  Of these four, which comes most naturally to you?  What is the most challenging?  What practical step can you take this week to deepen your friendships?

2. Is there someone in your life that needs to feel God's love this week?  How can you be a part of making that a reality?
