Icebreaker Questions

1. Have you ever completely misunderstood a situation until you saw it from someone else's perspective?  Why is "perspective" important to loving others?

2. Who is one genuinely humble person you've known, and what made them stand out?  List a few traits/characteristics or examples?

Diving Deeper

1. Read Philippians 2:1-2.  Why is it important to remember what we have received from God before we serve and love others?  How does Christian unity differ from uniformity?

2. Read Philippians 2:3.  What does it mean to be driven by "selfish ambition?"  How can we practically count others as more significant than ourselves?

3. Read Philippians 2:4.  How do we balance taking care of ourselves and giving priority to others?  What makes that challenging?

Life Application Questions

1. What "hidden act of service" will you do this week to demonstrate love for someone?  (I'll admit that talking about this doesn't make it as "hidden" so if you don't want to share specifics - that's okay, but give examples of things we could be doing)

2. Putting on your spiritual binoculars to see the needs of others reveals how God wants to use you.  Spend some time praying and seeking His direction on how you can be a blessing to others.  And then go do it.
