Sermon Study Questions 6.15.25
My Story
1. One of the most important aspects of Christianity is having a proper view of God and a proper view of self. Before you came to faith, how would you describe yourself, and how has that changed since? How has your view of God changed over time?
2. Have you developed a regular routine of prayer? If so, what has worked? If not, what are the roadblocks to setting your mind on God regularly?
Diving Deeper
1. Read Psalm 5:1-3. How does David approach God in his prayer? What words does he use to describe God? How can you tell by reading this passage that David is truly trusting in God?
2. Read Psalm 5:4-8. How is the sinner's condition described in vv.4-6? On what basis is the sinner reconciled to God (v.7)? How should this affect the sinner's new life?
3. Read Psalm 5:9-12. If you had to summarize the dichotomy between the fate of the wicked and righteous in one statement, what would you say?
Taking it Home
1. How do you approach God? When coming to God in prayer, which of His attributes stand out to you? How are you going to commit to develop a regular habit of prayer? Be specific.
2. Trials and suffering are inevitable in this fallen world. David describes the refuge of the Lord in v.11. Have you experienced the refuge of God? Going forward, what do you need to seek refuge from and for?
