1. Who is someone you've spent years getting to know? What makes that relationship different from simply knowing facts about them?

2. Is there something in your past that you need to let go of in order to press on towards the upward call of God?

Diving Deeper

1. Read Philippians 3:10-11.  What is Paul's focus in these verses?  What is surprising about that?

2. Read Philippians 3:12-13.  What does Paul admit in this passage?  Why is admitting this so important in order to pursue true Christian maturity?

3. Read Philippians 3:14-16.  Why can both past failures and past successes become obstacles to spiritual growth?

Life Application Questions

1. Paul says, "I press on."  What is one practical way you can intentionally pursue Christ this week?

2. This week, begin each morning by praying: "Jesus, I don't want to simply know more about You—I want to know You more deeply. Show me where You're working today, and help me follow wherever You lead." At the end of each day, ask yourself: "How did I experience Jesus today?"
