Creation & Foundations - Genesis 6:13-22 - October 12, 2025

 Genesis chapter 6 gives us the opportunity to look back and see what the future holds for each of us.

 One thousand six hundred fifty-six years had passed since God had perfectly created the Earth and mankind. Our ancestors (Adam and Eve) were created to live perfect, eternal lives. There was no sin nor violence. God provided for all their needs. They were truly “living the dream”! But they allowed sin to enter the world, and the rest is history.

 The Earth became filled with sinful, corrupt, unrighteous people, and violence became the norm. God’s patience ran out. He determined that the only way to end the ongoing sin was to destroy those who were committing it.

 So God chose one of the few (possibly the only) righteous, blameless men living at that time to provide a way to escape the coming wrath. He chose Noah to build and make available an ark of safety.

 As he was building, Noah preached righteousness and tried to warn of the coming wrath. But he was ignored (and even mocked). The people occupied themselves with other priorities and diversions, such as “eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage”, and they continued filling the Earth with violence.

 The flood came, and everyone who had not followed Noah into the ark perished.

 What does this tell us about what our future will be like?

 The story of Noah is being repeated in front of our eyes:

A righteous, blameless, perfect man has come to Earth. He has told us of the wrath to come and offered Himself as the “ark” of safety if we will repent and follow Him.

He has told the world that its end is coming (to be replaced with a new, perfect Earth), and all but the ones who are following Him will be destroyed.

 This man is the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 Look at the state of our world: sinful corruption, unrighteousness, and violence are filling our world. Many people are ignoring God’s warnings and mocking those who are pursuing God’s blameless, righteous life, just as in the days of Noah.

 Many are being distracted by other interests and priorities (partying, leisure, family, hobbies, making a living, to name a few). They are not prepared for what (or should I say whom) is coming, and their destruction is imminent.

 The obvious question is “Am I prepared and ready”? Are you?

 The loving God of the universe, the one who loves us so much that He sent His Son to save us from the coming wrath, is calling. He invites you to come to him, get to know him, and join him in living the good life he has planned for you. He passionately desires you to join with Him to prepare for your heavenly eternity.

 If you have returned to God as Jesus instructed, be encouraged to continue pursuing and doing His will. This is how we best prepare to stand before Him at the end of the age.

 If you have not yet returned to your loving God, I implore you to do so and begin learning from Him how to walk daily to please Him. You will be amazed at what He will do for you. And you will be prepared to be welcomed into the new Heaven and New Earth when God decides it is time.

 El capítulo 6 del Génesis nos brinda la oportunidad de mirar atrás y ver lo que el futuro nos depara a cada uno de nosotros.

 Habían pasado mil seiscientos cincuenta y seis años desde que Dios creó perfectamente la Tierra y la humanidad. Nuestros antepasados (Adán y Eva) fueron creados para vivir vidas perfectas y eternas. No había pecado ni violencia. Dios satisfacía todas sus necesidades. ¡Realmente estaban «viviendo el sueño»! Pero permitieron que el pecado entrara en el mundo, y el resto es historia.

 La Tierra se llenó de personas pecadoras, corruptas e injustas, y la violencia se convirtió en la norma. La paciencia de Dios se agotó. Determinó que la única manera de poner fin al pecado continuo era destruir a quienes lo cometían.

 Así que Dios eligió a uno de los pocos (posiblemente el único) hombres justos e irreprochables que vivían en aquella época para proporcionar una forma de escapar de la ira venidera. Eligió a Noé para que construyera y pusiera a disposición un arca de seguridad.

 Mientras lo construía, Noé predicaba la justicia y trataba de advertir sobre la ira venidera. Pero fue ignorado (e incluso burlado). La gente se ocupaba de otras prioridades y diversiones, como «comer y beber, casarse y dar en matrimonio», y continuaban llenando la Tierra de violencia.

 Llegó el diluvio y todos los que no habían seguido a Noé al arca perecieron.

¿Qué nos dice esto sobre cómo será nuestro futuro?

 La historia de Noé se está repitiendo ante nuestros ojos:

Un hombre justo, irreprochable y perfecto ha venido a la Tierra. Nos ha hablado de la ira que se avecina y se ha ofrecido a sí mismo como el «arca» de la salvación si nos arrepentimos y le seguimos. Ha dicho al mundo que se acerca su fin (para ser sustituido por una Tierra nueva y perfecta), y que todos, excepto los que le siguen, serán destruidos.

 Este hombre es el Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.

 Mirad el estado de nuestro mundo: la corrupción pecaminosa, la injusticia y la violencia lo están invadiendo. Muchas personas ignoran las advertencias de Dios y se burlan de quienes persiguen una vida irreprochable y justa, tal como en los días de Noé.

 Muchos se distraen con otros intereses y prioridades (fiestas, ocio, familia, aficiones, ganarse la vida, por nombrar algunos). No están preparados para lo que (o debería decir para quién) se avecina, y su destrucción es inminente.

 La pregunta obvia es: «¿Estoy preparado y listo?». ¿Lo estás?

 El Dios amoroso del universo, el que nos ama tanto que envió a Su Hijo para salvarnos de la ira venidera, nos está llamando. Él te invita a venir a Él, a conocerlo y a unirte a Él para vivir la buena vida que ha planeado para ti. Él desea apasionadamente que te unas a Él para prepararte para tu eternidad celestial.

 Si has vuelto a Dios como Jesús te instruyó, anímate a seguir buscando y haciendo Su voluntad. Así es como mejor nos preparamos para estar ante Él al final de los tiempos.

Si aún no has vuelto a tu Dios amoroso, te imploro que lo hagas y comiences a aprender de Él cómo caminar cada día para complacerlo. Te sorprenderá lo que Él hará por ti. Y estarás preparado para ser recibido en el nuevo cielo y la nueva tierra cuando Dios decida que es el momento.
