Bible Prophecy - Revelation 14:6-13 - November 26, 2025
When we get to Revelation, Bible prophecy gets increasingly terrifying! However, through the merit and power of Christ’s sacrifice, God’s purposes will be accomplished, redeeming a whole host of people and fulfilling the Abrahamic promise of blessing to all nations.
In Rev. 14:6-7, we are assured every person on earth hears the angel’s message: “Fear God and give Him glory because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship Him Who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water.”
In vss. 9-11, an angel warns about worshipping the beast introduced in the previous chapter: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he will drink the wine of God’s fury, poured full strength into the cup of His wrath! He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb… There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.”
Most of us have heard about the “Mark of the Beast”, read books about it, been frightened thinking about it, and don’t want anything to do with it. We don’t want the people we love to receive such a mark, either. Ultimately, that is not our call. Evangelistically, we are responsible for communicating what Bible prophecy says about the last days and asking God to save our loved ones. Hopefully, our lives and our words can be used by Him.
Some might ask, “How can our loving God treat people this way?” Well, stop and think about it. Who are the people treated this way? They are people who reject Him, absolutely refusing any claim of God over their lives. In v10 above, we read, “He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb.” Jesus is the Lamb of God who will watch as those who sneered at Him, preferring their sin (and maybe their perceived righteousness) over His salvation and loving forgiveness. They may think they have absolutely no need for God’s forgiveness because they have “lived a good life”.
Three angels appear in these verses. The first one proclaims, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship Him…” This sounds like an address to Christians and people who still have an opportunity for salvation, doesn’t it? The second angel proclaims judgment against rampant sexual immorality and idolatry. The third angel loudly warns against worshipping the beast and taking his mark on their body. Those who do will be tormented in fire eternally.
While all this is happening, God, through John, encourages Believers to endure with patience, remaining faithful to Jesus. (And we know they will because He will see to it.)

Cuando llegamos al Apocalipsis, ¡las profecías bíblicas se vuelven cada vez más aterradoras! Sin embargo, gracias al mérito y al poder del sacrificio de Cristo, los propósitos de Dios se cumplirán, redimiendo a toda una multitud de personas y cumpliendo la promesa abrahámica de bendición para todas las naciones.
En Apocalipsis 14:6-7, se nos asegura que todas las personas de la tierra escuchan el mensaje del ángel: «Temed a Dios y dadle gloria, porque ha llegado la hora de su juicio. Adorad a aquel que hizo el cielo, la tierra, el mar y las fuentes de agua».
En los versículos 9-11, un ángel advierte sobre la adoración a la bestia presentada en el capítulo anterior: «Si alguno adora a la bestia y a su imagen, y recibe la marca en su frente o en su mano, él también beberá del vino de la ira de Dios, que ha sido vertido sin mezcla en la copa de su ira, y será atormentado con fuego y azufre delante de los santos ángeles y delante del Cordero... No habrá descanso ni de día ni de noche para los que adoran a la bestia y a su imagen, ni para nadie que reciba la marca de su nombre».
La mayoría de nosotros hemos oído hablar de la «marca de la bestia», hemos leído libros sobre ella, nos hemos asustado al pensar en ella y no queremos tener nada que ver con ella. Tampoco queremos que las personas que amamos reciban esa marca. En última instancia, esa no es nuestra decisión. Desde el punto de vista evangelístico, somos responsables de comunicar lo que dice la profecía bíblica sobre los últimos días y de pedir a Dios que salve a nuestros seres queridos. Esperemos que Él pueda utilizar nuestras vidas y nuestras palabras.
Algunos podrían preguntarse: «¿Cómo puede nuestro Dios amoroso tratar a las personas de esta manera?». Bueno, deténgase y piénselo. ¿Quiénes son las personas que reciben este trato? Son personas que lo rechazan, que se niegan rotundamente a aceptar cualquier reclamo de Dios sobre sus vidas. En el versículo 10 anterior, leemos: «Será atormentado con azufre ardiente en presencia de los santos ángeles y del Cordero». Jesús es el Cordero de Dios que observará cómo aquellos que se burlaron de Él, prefiriendo su pecado (y tal vez su supuesta justicia) a Su salvación y Su amoroso perdón. Pueden pensar que no necesitan en absoluto el perdón de Dios porque han «vivido una buena vida».
En estos versículos aparecen tres ángeles. El primero proclama: «Temed a Dios y dadle gloria, porque ha llegado la hora de su juicio. Adoradle...». Esto suena como un mensaje dirigido a los cristianos y a las personas que aún tienen la oportunidad de salvarse, ¿no es así? El segundo ángel proclama el juicio contra la inmoralidad sexual y la idolatría desenfrenadas. El tercer ángel advierte en voz alta contra la adoración de la bestia y la aceptación de su marca en el cuerpo. Los que lo hagan serán atormentados en el fuego eternamente.
Mientras todo esto sucede, Dios, a través de Juan, anima a los creyentes a perseverar con paciencia, permaneciendo fieles a Jesús. (Y sabemos que lo harán porque Él se encargará de ello).
