Icebreaker Questions

1. Security is something that we all either consciously or subconsciously desire.  What's something in life that gives you a sense of safety or security? 

2. Who is someone you trust to follow through on what they promise? What makes them reliable?

Diving Deeper

1. Read Ephesians 1:4-5.  What does this passage teach us about God's role in our salvation?  What tensions or questions do verses like these tend to raise?

2. Read John 19:30.  What is the significance of Jesus' statement in this verse?  How does that reality relate to our lives today?

3. Read Hebrews 12:1-2.  What does verse two teach us about Jesus' relationship with our faith?  What is the application that the writer of Hebrews attaches to this truth about Jesus?

1. Do you tend to base your assurance on God’s promises or your performance?  What is something that you can walk away from this study encouraged by?
