Sermon Study Questions 5.4.25
My Story
1. If you had to reflect on your life and choose the 3 most pivotal moments, what would you choose and why?
2. How do you typically respond to suffering in your life? Think of some specific ways we tend to respond, and some ways that we should respond?
Going Deeper
1. Read Romans 5:1-2. How does God’s grace change your standing before Him? What was your standing before experiencing God’s grace, and after experiencing God’s grace?
2. Read Romans 5:3-11. What is the purpose of suffering in the Christian life? Can you look back on a time in your life in which God has taught you something through suffering?
3. Read Romans 5:12-21. How are Adam and Jesus similar? How are they different? How does the grace of Jesus change our stories?
Taking it Home
1. As Christians, we spend lots of time focusing on how God’s grace changes our standing and relationship with God. However, sometimes we miss the link between knowing that we are in good standing before God, and living like it. Talk about how grace not only saves us, but also transforms our daily lives. How can your daily life be changed today-by grace?
2. What Adam broke, Jesus restored. What sin ruined, grace rewrote. You are no longer defined by your past—grace changes your story. If someone were to ask you what your story is as a Christian, how would you answer them if you only had 60 seconds?
