Sermon Study Questions 7.19.26

Icebreaker Questions
1. What's one "ordinary" job or role that you think deserves way more appreciation than it gets?
2. When you think of the word "hero," who comes to mind first? Has that definition changed as you've gotten older?
Diving Deeper
1. Read Philippians 2:19-24. What stands out to you about Paul's description of Timothy? What's the difference between serving people because it's expected and genuinely caring about people?
2. Read Philippians 2:25-28. What impresses you most about Epaphroditus? What does serving Jesus cost us in today's world?
3. Read Philippians 2:29-30. Verse 29 tells us to "honor such men." How can churches become better at celebrating faithfulness rather than visibility?
Life Application Questions
1. Is there an area where you've become discouraged because your service feels unnoticed? How does today's passage encourage you? What ordinary act of faithfulness could become your way of serving Christ this week?
2. Choose one faithful but often overlooked person this week—a volunteer, teacher, nursery worker, greeter, small-group leader, coworker, parent, spouse, or friend. Instead of simply thinking they're appreciated:
- Write them a note, send a text, pray for/with them, thank them specifically for their faithfulness.
Your encouragement may strengthen someone who has quietly been serving Christ for years.
