Icebreaker Questions

1. What’s easier for you personally—pointing out when someone messes up, or stepping in to help? Why do you think it’s easier to criticize than to carry?

2. What’s a time when someone encouraged you during a hard season? How did that lift you up?

Diving Deeper

1. Read Romans 15:1-2.  What does it practically look like to "bear" with the weak?  How does that application come out of a proper understanding of the Gospel?

2. Read Romans 15:3-4.  How did Jesus exemplify lifting up others?  What is the purpose of the Scriptures according to verse 4?

3. Read Romans 15:5-6.  What does Paul ask the Church to look like in this passage?  How do we accomplish that?

Life Application

1. Who in your life right now is carrying something too heavy? What practical step can you take this week to help carry their load?

2. If the church is like an orchestra, what “instrument” or role do you think God has given you to play? How are you using that gift to help the whole body glorify God?
